For holiday breaks at Marina Mar 206 it is not necessary to have a car.
The marina and beach are very close by.
To reach the Golf courses or Water Park attractions, many pre bookings include transport in the ticket price. There are ticket agencies around the marina.

The Wednesday Market at Quarteira can be reached by walking along the beach (probably 30 mins) or take a taxi from the taxi rank around the corner from Marina Mar.
Breakfast: The Petunia Cafe / Restaurant right by Marina Mar entrance is open early until late, for Coffee / Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner. Good menu and good value.
Daytime family fun:
To the beach, on leaving the Marina Mar building, turn left and follow the road which curves to the left. Cross the road by the taxi rank.
Take the turning to the right which leads to the Hotel Ampalius, straight ahead is the beach (“praia”). About 10 mins walk from Marina Mar.

Try out the tourist “train” you will see it stop at various points, this road ‘train’ gives you a tour of the area.
Swimming Pool, Marina Mar has a beautiful outdoor pool with sun loungers.
Evening entertainment
There is a great variety of places to eat and drink around the marina.
Many with music or TV Screen Sports.
Do take time to also explore the restaurants slightly back from the marina, (including those at the square at back of the marina) often these establishments work even harder to give good value and service.

Many of the hotels welcome non residents to their evening buffets and theme nights. Just look for the events notice boards in hotels reception areas to see what is planned; then ask at the hotel reception desk if they have tickets for sale.
Around the corner from Marina Mar just past the taxi rank and past the Ampalius hotel is Vilamoura Casino as you would imagine there are slot machines and gambling rooms; but it also hosts a stage show most nights, ask at the casino reception for tickets for full evening meal + show. Or, if there is availability, it is often possible to see the show and have drinks without the meal.
